Application process

Ready to join the AEMS Summer University? Here’s how to apply:

Start by filling out our online application form. You'll need to register first — just provide your name, email address, and create a password. Once you're set up, make sure to complete all required fields and upload the following documents for your application to be processed smoothly:

• A scan or photo of the picture page of your passport
• Your Curriculum Vitae
• A short motivational statement (max. 1,000 characters including spaces) telling us why you are excited about the AEMS program and how you want to contribute to sustainable development (whether through daily habits, projects you want to initiate, or roles you’ve held in the past). Please type this directly into the form.
• A recent photo of yourself (this will be used internally for an info package and a student photo wall)
• Grade transcript from your home university (to confirm your student status, if applicable)

The AEMS Summer University is an academic course. If you complete it successfully, BOKU-students or "Mitbeleger:innen" from other Austrian universities will earn 5 ECTS credits from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU). International students will receive a BOKU certificate, which needs to be recognized by your home university.

Your contract partner is OeAD student housing. By submitting your application, you agree to the General Terms and Conditions and automatically start the nomination process. Please note that the Withdrawal or Deferral Refund Policy applies from the moment you submit your application.

Selection Criteria & Process

Once your application is in, we’ll evaluate the following elements to select participants:

• Completed A-level or equivalent
• Motivation and commitment to participate
• Proficiency in English
• Academic achievements or work experience
• International experience

We value diverse perspectives and the power of exchange, which is why the AEMS Summer University seeks a varied group of participants from all disciplines. We highly encourage students from all fields to apply!

Nomination Process

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll start reviewing your documents. If we need more information, we’ll reach out to you.

Nomination decisions and scholarship assignments will be sent out by email around the 15th of each month, along with payment details.

After being nominated, you'll be asked to sign and return the Waiver of Liability.

After Your Nomination

Once you accept our nomination and return the signed Waiver of Liability, it’s time to transfer the tuition fee, as detailed on your invoice. Don’t forget to send us a confirmation of your payment. Once your payment is confirmed, your spot is secured, and we’ll start preparing for your unforgettable time at the AEMS Summer University!
